All events start at the car park in Pegwell Bay Country Park which is sign posted from the A256 Ramsgate-Sandwich road and is located just south of Cliffsend Village (O.S. Grid reference TR 342 635).

Dogs are welcome (on leads please). For more information, including details regarding access for those with disabilities, please contact a reserve warden on 07889 469357 or 07747 608292.

See a variety of moths caught the previous night. Emptying of the trap will take about an hour. BBQ food and non alcoholic drinks (approximately £5/head).

Attractions on the Saturday include the Green Roadshow, with a circus big top, entertainment, electric cars, solar power, re-cycling and much more. There will be a range of eco-exhibitors and an international music stage, with 'live' music from France and the UK.

The name of the event is  BayBusk 2010, "banding together in aid of Demelza House Children's Hospice." It is on Saturday 10th July from 12 midday to 5pm in the Bandstand on Herne Bay seafront.

There will be five different bands and duo's playing throughout the five hours for people to sit and listen to or maybe just pause and enjoy a little as they pass by along the front.

 

We will have a presenter to link between the bands and explain we are there to have some fun making music and raising funds for Demelza.

Once again Whitstable Park and Ride will be available for the opening weekend of Whitstable Oyster Festival on Saturday 24 July and Sunday 25 July between 10am and 9pm

There will be ample parking spaces available and clear signs when you arrive at the site. Please park only in the marked bays within the car park areas.The buses will run approximately every 15 minutes from 10am to 9pm on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July only.The cost will be £1 per person for adults, and 50p per child (5 to 16 years), under 5's travel free. Please note that there will be no reductions for National Bus Pass concession holders or disabled customers.The fare includes travel on the service all day but will only be available to customers who buy a ticket at the car park, no foot passengers will be allowed to board the bus unless they can show the driver their Park & Ride ticket.

Saturday 31st July & Sunday 1st August 'Lions' Whitstable Regatta

!
Whitstable & Herne Bay Lions Club are organising 217th anniversary of Whitstable Regatta. The first regatta was Tuesday 7th August 1792 between the seamen of Whitstable & Faversham making this possibly the oldest sea Regatta in the world. This year the Regatta will be on Saturday 31st July and Sunday 1st August 2010, on Tankerton Slopes, Tankerton, Whitstable, in Tankerton Bay for the Waterborne Regatta  and in the sky’s above on Sunday afternoon. The finale on Saturday is a Fantastic Firework Display over Tankerton Bay. Watch it from the slopes.
No charge but a collection will be made to help pay for the firerworks.

Whitstable Carnival

The Whitstable Carnival is planning its 113th parade on Saturday August 7 2010.

This year Whitstable Carnival will start at the new time of 5pm.

You don't have to dress up as a clown!

The Carnival Office will be open at the Evangelical Hall in Northwood Road, Tankerton from 1pm on Saturday 7th August. Members of the Committee will be there to answer any questions. Floats congregate in Tankerton from around 2pm. Late entries will be accepted on the day at the Carnival Office no later than 3pm.

Any joining instructions not received before the day can also be collected from the Carnival Office.

All entries must be in position by 3.30pm  for judging which will start promptly at 3.45 pm.

The parade will start promptly at 5pm from Pier Avenue and will make its way through Tankerton and Whitstable and finish in Saddleton Road at around 8pm.

The procession passes Tower Parade at about 5.20, Harbour Street at 5.45 and Oxford Street at about 6pm.

These times are approximate so be sure to find a good viewpoint well ahead of time!

14th August Whitstable Harbour Day 2010

Saturday the 14thAugust. Whitstable’s famous Harbour Day. Everything from historic ships, diving demonstrations; remember diving began right here in Whitstable, an RNLI rescue, kayak displays. Whitstable had the first passenger carrying railway in the world, so we have the miniature ‘Crab & Winkle’ train running on the Harbour South Quay & multitude of stalls & stands with something for everyone. Stop don’t forget the kids, we’ve ‘Punch & Judy’ , as well as sandcastle building competitions and of course loads of great sea food.

 Whitstable Harbour Day is organised by the Whitstable Harbour Association & compared by Red Sands Radio.
