Departing

Departing

Departing Whitstable Harbour ‘Emeline’ an Oyster Dredger F14 was built at Collars Yard Whitstable in 1904 and named after owner Mr Whorlows daughter

Converted into a yacht at Anderson, Rigden & Perkins yard she went to Spain, abandoned by her owners who weren’t able to settle harbour dues she was discovered in the 1950′s by Leonard Cole who owned Leonard’s Toys in the town

Impounded by Spanish authorities she was put up for auction

The vessels plight was highlighted by the Whitstable Times with a group purchasing her for £500, completing the 1000 mile trip the 44′ 25 tonne vessel arrived in Faversham in 1993. A complete rebuild was completed in 2007 with just the original keel & stern retained
